Jimoh Ibrahim, the senator for Ondo South, has responded to the rumors regarding Rotimi Akeredolu’s health. He is the state governor.
Akeredolu has already requested permission to prolong his medical leave in writing to the State House of Assembly.
The governor left on a 21-day vacation on June 7 and was due back on July 6.
Akeredolu was allegedly in a state of “extreme incapacity” on Monday, according to Abdullahi Adamu, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
However, addressing on Tuesday, Ibrahim said: “I want to express my displeasure in the way people are talking about Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s health as if he’s the first public office holder to fall sick,” Ibrahim added.
“We were all present when former President Muhammadu Buhari spent almost six months abroad receiving medical care.
“I bet you that by God’s grace, those wicked and evil people who wish Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu dead will perish before him.”
