Civil servants in Jigawa State have been reported to have not returned to work after the Eid holidays, causing concerns about the efficiency and productivity of government operations.

The Federal Government initially declared a two-day holiday for the Eid festivities, but due to the crescent moon not being sighted on Monday, the holiday was extended to Thursday, leading to an extended break for the civil servants.

The Head of the Civil Service in Jigawa State, Alhaji Muhammad K Dagaceri, has emphasized the importance of punctuality and dedication to duties among civil servants in the state.

He personally visited various MDAs at the State Secretariat to monitor the resumption of workers after the Eid-el-Fitr Sallah holiday, noting that while some civil servants were present and ready for work, many were still absent after the three days of celebration.

Alhaji Muhammad K Dagaceri expressed disappointment over the absenteeism, highlighting the significance of commitment and professionalism in delivering essential services to the citizens of Jigawa State.

He urged civil servants to prioritize their responsibilities and uphold the principles of professionalism, emphasizing the need for them to reciprocate the goodwill shown to them by Governor Malam Umar A Namadi.
