Jamila Ibrahim is proposed by Tinubu as the new minister of youth

In anticipation of the Senate’s confirmation, President Bola Tinubu has proposed Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim for the position of Minister of Youth.

In addition, Mr. Ayodele Olawande was put forward by Tinubu for nomination as the Minister of State for Youth, subject to Senate confirmation.

This was disclosed in a statement released on Sunday by Ajuri Ngelale, the president’s special adviser on media and publicity.

In accordance with the statement, “Ibrahim, a young doctor, most recently presided over the Progressive Young Women Forum (PYWF).

She also held the position of Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Kwara State for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The statement said, “Olawande is a youth leader and community development expert in the ruling All Progressives’ Congress (APC).

“He most recently worked from 2019 to 2023 in the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Innovation.”

The President reportedly gave the nominees instructions to make sure they continually exhibit “the dynamism, innovative zeal, and unyielding productivity synonymous with the young people of Nigeria as they discharge their duties.”
