LeBron James surpasses Michael Jordan’s career points record as the LA Lakers secure a thrilling win against the Atlanta Hawks.

LeBron James surpassed Michael Jordan to claim the record for the most 30-point games in NBA history, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 119-102 win against the Atlanta Hawks.

The 40-year-old, who holds the title as the league’s all-time leading scorer, reached this milestone for an incredible 563rd time by scoring 30 points, surpassing the record established by Jordan in 2003.

He also advanced to fourth place in the NBA for the most games played, reaching a total of 1,523—surpassing Dirk Nowitzki by one game.

He is now behind only Robert Parish (1,611), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1,560), and Vince Carter (1,541) for the most career games played.

In the 1990s, Jordan clinched six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls, establishing himself as a worldwide icon in basketball.

“Extremely humbling,” James remarked after Friday night’s victory. “Whenever I’m mentioned alongside the greats, and arguably the greatest ever to play the game, it’s incredibly cool.”

“He was my childhood idol, and I wear the number 23 because of him. So being able to be part of a room or conversation where MJ is mentioned feels incredibly awesome for me.”

The Oklahoma City Thunder extended their winning streak to meet the team’s record of 14 consecutive victories by defeating the New York Knicks, 117-107.

The Thunder entered the final quarter down 88-80, but Aaron Wiggins scored 15 of his total 19 points to lead a comeback. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander contributed with a game-high of 33 points and Jalen Williams added another strong performance with 20 points, helping secure a victory that snapped the Knicks’ nine-game winning streak.
