ISWAP terrorists issue a directive for residents in parts of Yobe State to leave their communities, heightening security concerns.

Several communities in the Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State have been given a one-week ultimatum by Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists to vacate their homes.

Local sources report that over the weekend, insurgents attacked the communities, firing randomly to create fear before delivering their message.

The militants accused the residents of revealing their movements to security forces, alleging that this had resulted in recent military operations against them.

A local resident shared their concerns with Newsmen about the situation, stating, “They attacked us and harassed our community. Now they’ve issued an ultimatum: leave or face violence. We desperately need assistance, yet the media remains silent.”

Another resident verified the threat, noting that many individuals lack the financial resources to move. “We don’t even have money for travel or housing rental. People are in severe poverty. Our lives are at risk.”

According to reports, some residents have already started leaving their homes as the deadline nears.

Following the death of Abubakar Shekau, leader of a faction within Boko Haram, ISWAP has been consolidating its hold over the Lake Chad region by incorporating former Boko Haram members who have defected.
