Discover the extensive 15-year plan developed by Israel for strategic pager attacks, now revealed by ABC News. Explore the details and implications of this long-term strategy.

According to a US intelligence source who spoke to ABC News, Israeli security services have been planning an operation similar to the widespread explosions of Hezbollah electronic devices last week for at least 15 years.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, a series of explosions in Lebanon that occurred at the same time as pagers, walkie-talkies, and other devices used by the militant group caused thousands of injuries. Although media sources have generally depicted the incident as a Mossad conspiracy including the rigging of the gadgets with remotely-triggered explosive charges, Israel has neither confirmed nor disputed responsibility for it.

Economy Minister Kuo Jyh-huei told reporters on Friday that the components are primarily low-end integrated circuits and batteries, as cited by Reuters.”I’m positive they weren’t manufactured in Taiwan.”

Declaring that Lebanon is now at war with its neighbor, Beirut and the Hezbollah leadership held Israel responsible for the incident.

On Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces increased their cross-border shooting into Lebanon, raising concerns among observers that this could be a pretext for a significant ground assault. Yoav Gallant, the minister of defense, declared a “new phase in the war” against the militant movement on Wednesday. Amidst the escalating tensions, an Israeli commando division that was previously engaged in military operations in Gaza relocated to the north.

Israel first conducted a major military operation in Lebanon in 1982, which resulted in a three-year partial occupation and the emergence of Hezbollah as a significant military and political force. In 2006, Israel conducted another invasion into Lebanon that lasted for a month.
