Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu Scheduled for Another Surgery on Sunday
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to undergo a second surgical procedure this Sunday, raising public concern over his health.
According to a statement from his office, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to have prostate surgery on Sunday.
The 66-year-old Netanyahu was recently diagnosed with a urinary tract infection resulting from benign prostate enlargement.
This will be the most recent in a succession of medical procedures for the Prime Minister.
Earlier this year, he had hernia surgery and received a pacemaker implant in 2023.
The announcement arrives during increased tensions in Gaza, where the Israeli military has carried out a raid on one of the remaining operational hospitals in northern Gaza and detained its director.
Israel’s conflict with Hamas has been unfolding since the October 7 attacks, resulting in around 1,200 fatalities and approximately 250 abductions.
The Hamas-operated Palestinian health ministry reports that over 45,400 Palestinians have been killed and more than 108,000 injured since the start of the conflict.
These numbers include a considerable amount of women and children, but they do not distinguish between civilians and combatants.
