According to the Israel Defence Forces, Zakaria Abu Ma’amr and Jawad Abu Shamala directed attacks against the Jewish state.
Israeli soldiers assassinated two senior political bureau members, including the economy minister for Hamas, on Monday evening, according to a statement from the Israel Defence soldiers (IDF). Shortly after the IDF carried out more than 100 airstrikes on Gaza, reports of their deaths surfaced.
Later, on its official website, Hamas announced the passing of the two men, claiming they had been “martyred as a result of the Zionist occupation’s bombing of the Gaza Strip.”
In the political side of Hamas, Jawad Abu Shamala served as economy minister, and Yahya Sinwar, the organization’s head in Gaza, was said by the IDF to be close with Zakaria Abu Ma’amr.
The IDF stated in a statement on Tuesday that Abu Ma’amr “was involved in the organization’s decision-making and planned many actions against the security of the State of Israel,” while Abu Shamala was in charge of “financing and directing terrorism.”
Since last Saturday, Israeli aeroplanes have been bombing the densely populated Gaza Strip; between Monday and Tuesday, 250 targets in Gaza City’s al-Furkan neighbourhood were hit.
The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) called this area a “nest of terror,” and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that airstrikes would “continue with full strength.”

Hamas fighters flooded across the border and stormed Jewish villages close to Gaza as air raid sirens wailed throughout southern Israel.
At least 800 Israelis have died and more than 2,000 have been injured as of Tuesday. At least 150 Israelis are reportedly being held hostage by Hamas, which has threatened to murder them on live television if Israel keeps bombing Gaza without giving any prior notice.
The behaviour of Israeli officials has not changed. Israeli Major General Ghassan Alian described the inhabitants of the Palestinian enclave as “human animals” on Tuesday. “In Gaza, there won’t be any water or electricity; only destruction will exist.” He threatened in a video message, “You sought hell, and you will get hell.
