Israel has announced plans to collaborate with its allies in formulating a coordinated response to an Iranian attack. The decision comes in the wake of escalating tensions between the two nations, with recent hostilities raising concerns about the potential for further conflict. By engaging with its allies, Israel aims to strengthen its position and ensure a united front in addressing the threat posed by Iran. This move underscores the importance of international cooperation in maintaining regional stability and deterring aggression.

The New York Times reported on Sunday that Israel plans to coordinate its response to the recent Iranian drone and missile attack with its allies. However, an Israeli official, who chose to remain anonymous, did not disclose the details of these consultations to the NYT.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has already had a phone conversation with US President Joe Biden following Iran’s overnight strikes. During the call, President Biden reiterated America’s unwavering commitment to Israel’s security and praised their ability to defend against and overcome unprecedented attacks.

President Biden also expressed his intention to hold discussions with G7 leaders in order to coordinate a unified diplomatic response to Iran’s audacious attack. He emphasized that the US would maintain close communication with Israel’s leaders. Numerous Western nations have strongly condemned Tehran’s strikes.

Meanwhile, according to Axios, US officials revealed that President Biden informed Prime Minister Netanyahu that the US would not support an Israeli retaliatory response due to concerns that it could escalate into a full-scale regional conflict. The Times of Israel reported that West Jerusalem has yet to determine how or if it will respond to the attack.

On the other hand, Iran declared the end of the operation, stating that it was intended as a “punishment” for what they believe was an Israeli attack on their consulate in Damascus earlier this month, resulting in the deaths of several senior Iranian military officers. However, Iran cautioned Israel that any retaliatory actions would be met with a much stronger response.

According to Israeli officials, the weekend raid involved over 300 Iranian missiles and drones, with 99% of the projectiles being intercepted. However, Iran claims that the attack was even more successful than anticipated, asserting that they destroyed two Israeli facilities.
