Israel has issued a warning to Iran, threatening a ‘DPS’ strike in response to escalating tensions in the region, signaling a potential shift in the Middle East’s geopolitical landscape.
Israel’s reaction to the Iranian missile attack will be “lethal, precise, and unexpected,” stated Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
Earlier this month, Tehran launched a missile barrage against Israel in what was reportedly retaliation for the assassinations of leaders from Hamas and Hezbollah, along with an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) general.
“The Iranian assault was forceful yet lacked precision,” Gallant stated on Wednesday. “On the other hand, our counterattack will be lethal, highly accurate, and most importantly, unexpected—they won’t know what hit them or how it occurred. They’ll only witness the outcome.”
Gallant addressed the Intelligence Unit 9900 of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), which is responsible for collecting and analyzing visual intelligence. He attributed their efforts to achieving Israel’s “air supremacy” and stated that it enables them to observe “very precisely and in every place what we want,” as reported by Jerusalem Post.
In April, Iran launched several missiles and drones targeting Israel as a retaliation for the deadly air raid on its consulate in Damascus, Syria. According to statements from Israel and the US, they successfully intercepted all of these attacks without any damage or casualties. However, an attack on October 1 was more extensive; videos shared on social media revealed multiple missile impacts indicating malfunctions in Israeli air defenses.

The IDF has promised a “serious and significant” response, while Tehran cautioned both Israel and the US that it would no longer show “unilateral self-restraint” and would retaliate even more forcefully.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has allegedly been attempting to coordinate the strike with the United States. Gallant’s scheduled visit to Washington on Tuesday was canceled because, according to reports, Netanyahu had not yet been able to contact US President Joe Biden.
Biden has issued a public warning to West Jerusalem against targeting Iran’s nuclear program or oil facilities. US and Israeli media reports indicate that the IDF is now anticipated to focus on military and intelligence sites instead.
Meanwhile, the news agency Tasnim, which is associated with the IRGC, reported that the Iranian military has developed at least ten contingency plans to respond to any potential Israeli attacks. On Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi asserted that Tehran is “not afraid of war.”
