Donald Trump, a former US President, has advised Israel to swiftly end its war with Hamas. He suggests that prolonging the conflict could harm the reputation of the Jewish state in terms of public relations.

Trump told Fox News on Thursday that the war ought to come to a swift end “because their reputation is diminishing rapidly, and as we all know, Israel doesn’t excel in public relations.”

During his tenure in the White House, Trump maintained a strong alliance with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and claimed to be “the most pro-Israel US president” ever. He honored requests made by Netanyahu by imposing sanctions on Iran, relocating the US Embassy within Israel to West Jerusalem and successfully mediating the Abraham Accords which led towards normalization of relationships between Israel, Bahrain, Sudan,Morocco & United Arab Emirates.

Ever since Israel’s war declaration against Hamas in October, Trump has persistently urged Netanyahu to swiftly end the battle with the Palestinian extremist faction.

Back in March, he informed the Israel Hayom news outlet that they needed to put an end to their war. He expressed confidence that they would successfully achieve this and emphasized the importance of transitioning towards a period of peace as opposed to enduring ongoing conflict.

He expressed his disapproval of the demolition of residential buildings in Gaza by stating that it depicts a negative image globally. The world is witnessing this disturbing sight every evening – edifices tumbling down upon individuals. While one may undertake necessary actions, such activities should not harm non-combatants.

During his interview with Fox, Trump criticized the Democrats who protested Netanyahu’s speech to Congress and expressed a desire for those protesting by burning American flags outside of the US Capitol to receive jail time.

On Thursday afternoon, Netanyahu is scheduled to hold a meeting with US President Joe Biden at the White House. Subsequently, he will travel to Florida and meet with Trump at the latter’s Mar-a-Lago estate. On Wednesday, Harris missed out on attending Netanyahu’s speech; however she plans to have an interaction with him on Thursday after his one-on-one talk with Biden gets over.
