Israel Faces ‘Obliterating War’ Threat from Iran

If Israel’s forces invade Lebanon, Iran has warned that a catastrophic war will ensue. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel is ready for a major operation along the border with Lebanon.

Iran’s mission to the UN labeled Israel’s preparations as “psychological warfare” and “propaganda,” cautioning that a full-blown attack on Lebanese territory will lead to an obliterating war.

The Iranian mission also mentioned that all resistance fronts are prepared to be fully involved, and Hezbollah has the capability to defend itself and Lebanon. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated that Israel is preparing for every scenario and could take Lebanon back to the Stone Age.

The continuing violence has raised concerns among Western politicians and relief groups, with UN humanitarian affairs chief Martin Griffiths warning that a war between Israel and Lebanon is “potentially apocalyptic.”
