According to the Gaza Health Ministry administered by Hamas, hundreds of Palestinians have died in an Israeli attack on a hospital in Gaza City.
Although the Israeli military blames a militant rocket barrage, Hamas claims the strike was an Israeli airstrike.
Earlier, the UN said that an attack also struck a school in central Gaza where 4,000 people were seeking refuge, killing at least six people.
The Israeli military had earlier stated that it was not aiming at civilians, adding that it would attack any Hamas targets it came across.
Following threats from the Israeli military, at least 600,000 residents have moved from the northern to the southern Gaza Strip.
Since the devastating Hamas strikes on October 7, Israel has cut off supplies of food, water, fuel, and electricity, but it disputes that there is a humanitarian catastrophe.

In order to learn more about Israel’s intentions for a ground assault in Gaza, US President Joe Biden will visit there on Wednesday.
More from Mark Regev, the Israeli Prime Minister’s top advisor, who told BBC News that the Israeli government believes a Hamas rocket was to blame for the explosion at the Al Ahli hospital.
“We are aware that there was a significant bombardment against targets in central Israel at the time of this catastrophe in Gaza. I went to a bomb shelter when the alert went off in Tel Aviv, he added.
“We are aware that they simultaneously launched rockets. In a statement, Hamas claimed that it was currently launching a long-range rocket against Haifa in northern Israel.
“Now, no rocket ever made it to Haifa. What happened to that rocket? Where did it come from?
The BBC is investigating the explosion at the Al Ahli hospital, which the Hamas government has attributed on the Israeli military.
