Islamic organization references verses from the Quaran and Bible, urging Tinubu to refrain from endorsing the agreement on homo3xuality
President Bola Tinubu has been advised to reject the “LGBT accord which will legalise lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) in Nigeria” by the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) organisation in Nigeria.
In a statement released on Saturday and bearing the signature of Professor Ishaq Akintola, the organization’s executive director, MURIC offered the advise.
According to the statement, Nigeria has been under pressure from Western nations operating under the auspices of the EU-ACP to join the ranks of nations that have legalised lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) relationships.
“From the beginning, this has been the aim of globalisation. We disapprove of this idea. It is repugnant, luciferous, evil, and immoral. In addition, it goes against the natural order. Allah made all things in pairs, one for each sex. If we switch to same-sex relationships, how can life go on?
The Anti-Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act of 2013 in Nigeria will be violated by any arrangement reached with the Satanic LGBT group. The goal of this law was to uphold morality and reason in Nigerian society. We support this law and demand that it be upheld as untouchable.
“When Prophet Lut (peace be upon him) said, ‘Do you lustfully seek males instead of women?’ he was clearly condemning homosexualism. No, you people lack knowledge (Glorious Qur’an 27:56). He said, “You abandon your wives, whom your Lord created for you, and you approach men of all creatures” (26:166–167).
Allah annihilated the Lutites in Sodom and Gomorrah because of this demonic deed. “We turned that city upside down and rained layer upon layer of clay on it when Our command came.” (Exalted Qur’an 11:83).
The Bible also opposes homosexuality and lesbianism. According to 1 Corinthians 6:9–10, homosexuality keeps a person from being admitted into God’s kingdom. It is declared in Leviticus 18:22 and 29:13 that it is forbidden for a man to have the same sexual relations with another man as he would with a woman. According to the apostle Paul, homosexuality is the outcome of rejecting God (Romans 1:26-27).
When it comes to traditional practises in Nigeria, homosexuality is right out of hell. There has never been anything comparable in our past. The Creator, Almighty, who paired the masculine and feminine in nature with divine wisdom was known to our ancestors. They never approved of any contamination or deviance.
Fears about the newly negotiated collaboration agreement between the European Union and the countries of Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific (EU-ACP) are not unique to MURIC in Nigeria. Nigeria belongs to the ACP.
Civil society organisations (CSOs) in coalition have advised the Federal Government not to sign the deal. The Coalition had warned that the accord, which sought to legalise LGBT people in their countries, would be disastrous if ACP states decided to sign it.
However, Nigeria was not present for the signing of the pact, also known as the Samoa pact, according to a statement made by Mrs. Francisca Omayuli, the Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson. According to the statement, stakeholders from Nigeria were still reviewing the arrangement. After the government’s attention was directed to various statements and publications regarding the implications of Nigeria’s signing, relevant Nigerian parties are examining the document to make sure that its provisions do not conflict with Nigerian domestic law.
Human rights, democracy and governance, peace and security, human and social development, environmental sustainability and climate change, inclusive sustainable economic growth, and development, migration, and mobility are the six main priority areas covered by the Samoa Agreement. The Cotonou Agreement (2000), which was preceded by a number of other accords meant to strengthen ties between the OACPS and the EU, is superseded and replaced by the Agreement, the speaker stated.
