Iranian media identifies the weaponry deployed against Israel (PHOTOS)
Iran reportedly utilized kamikaze drones and various long-range ballistic missiles to conduct a series of attacks on Israel recently, as per local media sources.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that the assault from Tehran consisted of 170 drones, over 30 cruise missiles, and more than 120 ballistic missiles. This retaliation was allegedly in response to an Israeli strike on Iran’s consulate in Damascus, Syria, which resulted in the deaths of several senior Iranian military officials.
Although the Iranian military did not disclose specific details regarding the weapons used in the attack, local reports indicated that they deployed numerous advanced systems to target their long-standing adversary.
Press TV mentioned that the drone and missile strike was preceded by cyberattacks on Israel’s radar and power grid systems, leading to power outages.

According to Press TV and Mehr News agency, the aerial assault included numerous Shahed-136 kamikaze drones. These drones, also known as loitering munitions, are equipped with delta-shaped wings and possess a low radar signature, making them challenging to detect. With a range of 2,000km and a payload capacity of up to 50kg, they were a significant part of the attack.
Following the drone swarms, various types of missiles were launched. Press TV suggested that Iran employed an unspecified number of Kheibar Shekan medium-range ballistic missiles with a payload of 500kg.
Additionally, there were reports of Tehran using Fattah hypersonic missiles, one of their most advanced systems. These missiles have a range of 1,400km and are designed to evade air defenses due to their high speed and maneuverability.
Mehr has proposed that Iran deploy Khorramshahr-4 missiles, boasting a range of 2,000km and a payload capacity of 1,500kg. On the other hand, Fabian Hinz, an expert on Iran’s military at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in Berlin, contended that the attack also involved Paveh 351 cruise missiles with a range of 1,650km.

The New York Times detailed that the weaponry utilized by Iran during the assault exhibited greater speed and accuracy compared to the arsenal typically employed by the Palestinian armed movement Hamas, which frequently utilizes imprecise missiles constructed from substandard materials.
Despite this, there was a stark disparity in perspectives between Iran and Israel regarding the outcomes of the strike. While Iranian authorities have asserted that the operation surpassed expectations, claiming to have obliterated two Israeli bases, West Jerusalem maintains that 99% of the incoming threats were successfully intercepted and neutralized.
