Economy Minister Nir Barkat has expressed his belief that Iran is a legitimate target for Israeli attacks, raising concerns about the possibility of an armed conflict with Tehran.
Barkat recommended adopting a strategy similar to President Kennedy’s approach during the Cuban Missile Crisis, where any missile threat would be met with a response.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also accused Iran of supporting militant groups in Gaza and claimed that Israel had already carried out direct attacks on Iran.
Israel alleges that Iran was involved in planning the October 7 attacks, which resulted in numerous casualties. However, Iran has denied any involvement, stating that such accusations are politically motivated.
