The Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, has received a warning from the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, not to rig the governorship election in Imo State on November 11.

IPOB declared that it would not remain silent while the Nigerian government used INEC employees to do nefarious deeds in the State.

Emma Powerful, the spokesperson for IPOB, advised INEC not to instigate a crisis in the State in a statement.

A portion of the statement says this: “INEC is cautioned not to plunge Imo State into political turmoil during the upcoming Imo State gubernatorial election by the international family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), skillfully led by the great and unstoppable liberator Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu KANU.

“Even though IPOB abstains from participating in the fraudulent political selection process in Nigeria known as elections, we will not stand by and let the Nigerian government to exploit dishonest INEC officials to uphold evil in Imo State and, consequently, the Southeast Region.

“Everyone is aware of the fraudulent acts carried out by INEC during the Nigerian elections. INEC is not autonomous; rather, it is entirely reliant on the ruling party or any wealthy politician who fills their coffers.

“But INEC authorities must use extreme caution in the upcoming Imo State election so as not to destabilise the state by enabling the continuation of the current four-year mandate of misery, starvation, and murders.

“INEC representatives must not use the fulanized Supreme Court to force a rejected candidate on Imo Indigenes. The Supreme Court’s illegality caused unjustified suffering, political intimidation, and mass murder in Imo State.

Powerful stated that IPOB opposed governments and political parties that are detrimental to the people of the Southeast.

In Imo State and beyond, he claimed, Governor Hope Uzodinma “has ensured that insecurity reigns supreme.”

“Those who are conspiring with him to rig him back into power should watch their back,” he issued a warning. A person who gathers firewood infected with ants has unintentionally invited lizards to a party.

Therefore, INEC representatives who were personally chosen and drafted by Hope Uzodinma to rig the Imo State election should exercise extreme caution while purchasing anything that has a high price tag. We want these conscripted INEC officials to know that the people of Imo State are suffering under a murderous regime and that it would be suicide for them to thwart their wishes in the upcoming election out of fear or financial gain,” he continued.
