The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has called on residents of the Southeast to disregard the recent sit-at-home order, emphasizing the need for normalcy in the region.
The leaders of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have urged Southeast residents to ignore a sit-at-home directive issued by an unidentified group.
In a statement issued on Monday, IPOB made it clear that this directive did not come from their pro-Biafra organization.
remembers that audio and video messages have been circulating on social media, warning residents in the area to stay off the streets.
The messages also recommended that parents and guardians keep their children at home instead of sending them to school.
Moreover, market and shop owners were advised not to open their businesses during this time.

The messages contained threats directed at anyone who fails to adhere to the sit-at-home order, scheduled for two days from Monday, October 21, to Tuesday, October 22.
In response, IPOB has urged residents to proceed with their daily activities as normal.
The IPOB spokesperson, Emma Powerful, stated that no sit-at-home order was declared by the organization for October 21 and 22.
“The unlawful directive originates from criminal groups and infiltrators based in Finland who are not affiliated with us.”
He went on to say, “Biafrans need to realize that IPOB does not call for sit-at-home actions without a valid reason.”
We have since suspended it, and anyone making such a declaration is engaging in criminal activity and should be disregarded.
“We chose not to discuss it further in order to prevent the unnecessary attention that could arise from acknowledging the trivial directive by infiltrators based in Finland,” Powerful stated.
