According to Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, 60,000 backlogs in passport applications had been resolved in just four working days.

Tunji-Ojo made the announcement earlier in the day when meeting with Beta Edu, the minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation, according to a statement from the minister’s media adviser, Babatunde Alao, released on Tuesday.

The minister reaffirmed that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working around the clock to address the problems facing the nation.

I can confirm that as of this morning, a total of 60,000 passport backlogs have been cleared, with 59,906 in particular.

“We had over 200,000 backlogs on Wednesday, September 6, when I issued the two-week deadline. I remain true to my pledge that those backlogs must be addressed; we have made progress.

According to Obasanjonews24, the minister ordered the Nigeria Immigration Service last Thursday to process all pending passport applications.
