The Super Eagles are scheduled to play Angola on Friday after defeating Cameroon 2-0 on Saturday.
The Super Eagles’ Monday rehabilitation session did not include Troost-Ekong or Victor Osimhen, which added fire to the rumours.
If manager Jose Peseiro chooses to start Troost-Ekong against Angola, he has declared that he is prepared to do so.
He told reporters in Abidjan, “You are going to see a team as motivated as we have been for the entire tournament.”
“Throughout, our message has been consistent. Our goal will be to enhance our previous performance. This will be a difficult game.
Since the Ivory Coast game, I’ve been dealing with a minor injury, so I’m just trying to take care of myself. But if the coach chooses to start me on Friday, I’ll be prepared to play.
