In contrast to the INEC, who has continued to display discrepancies, the LP lawyer claimed that his client’s camp has a solid case and is prepared to advance with their claim.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), according to the Labour Party’s (LP) lawyer Levi Uzoukwu, is not prepared to present a defense at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

As a result of INEC’s first defense witness’ absence, the court deferred their continued session on Monday, and Uzoukwu made this remark shortly after.

Speaking to reporters outside the court, the LP attorney claimed that, in contrast to the INEC, which has continued to display discrepancies, his side has a strong case and is prepared to move through with their case.

Given the discrepancies and contradictions, as well as what INEC has done, Uzoukwu opined that they are not prepared to defend this claim.

“I stand to be corrected, but I’d hope that they would defend this matter so that the public will see more things about what happened with this election.”

The legal counsel emphasized that it is up to the INEC to choose whether to summon a witness or witnesses while emphasizing that Nigeria has never had an election like the presidential vote on February 25. He also stated that both he and his client, the LP, are prepared at all times.
