INEC has in the last two weeks been engaging with critical stakeholders who participated in one way or the other in the conduct of the 2023 general elections.

Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and National Commissioners of the Commission are meeting with accredited local elections observer groups and civil society organisations at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

This is the electoral umpire’s first public meeting with representatives of CSOs and local elections observer groups since the conclusion of the general elections in 2023.

The summit will evaluate the 2023 general elections with civil society organisations and observer organisations, as well as discuss preparations for the impending off-season governorship elections in Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa states.

INEC has spent the previous two weeks meeting with key stakeholders involved in the conduct of the 2023 general elections.
