Since 2011, the commission has held these review meetings following each general election.
At the commission’s headquarters in Abuja, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is currently meeting with each Resident Electoral Commissioner.
The gathering is the first of its kind after the general elections of 2023 were over.
The meeting’s agenda is scheduled to include a review of the general elections held in February as well as plans for the off-season governorship elections in Kogi and Imo, which will take place in November of this year.
The electoral board announced that it would hold a post-elections assessment for the 2023 elections that had just ended from July 4 to August 5.
