INEC and voters in Imo State receive commendation from Governor Uzodinma for their role in the off-season election
All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor of Imo State, Governor Hope Uzodinma, has expressed satisfaction with the way the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) handled the November 11 off-season poll.
Uzodinma expressed his gratitude to the people of Imo State, especially those in his town, for exercising their right to vote in huge numbers and demonstrating the electorate’s commitment to taking an active part in the political process.
The Governor also expressed gratitude to the security personnel for preserving order and guaranteeing public safety throughout the election.

The encouraging comments from the governor coincide with a fierce political competition between eighteen political parties in the state, led by the APC, PDP, and LP.
More than two million people in Imo State are eligible to vote in this election, and Governor Uzodimma stressed the importance of people using their right to vote to select their leaders.
With competitors from the PDP and LP, Governor Uzodinma’s election is viewed as a difficult three-horse fight.
2,419,922 people were registered to vote in the state, according to INEC, and 2,318,919 of those people were deemed eligible to cast ballots after obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). In the Southeast state, there has been a 6.5 percent rise in registered voters since the 2019 elections.
