There will be a lot of security in place in Osogbo, the capital of Osun, when Senator Ademola Adeleke is sworn in as the sixth governor of Osun State on November 27, 2022.
On July 16, 2022, Ademola Adeleke won the gubernatorial election, defeating incumbent Adegboyega Oyetola with 403,371 votes to 375,027 votes.
It was noted that security had been stepped up at a few Osogbo flashpoints and at the stadium in the town where the swearing-in will take place.
This comes after yesterday’s show of force by members of the Nigerian Police, Department of State Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), and Fire Fighters in the area of Osogbo.
Oyetola appointed 30 permanent secretaries and promises to fire them on Monday.
In a very lengthy convoy of cars with armed men inside, the operatives monitored the state capital’s main intersections and thoroughfares.
3,700 people have been deployed in advance of the swearing-in of Ademola Adeleke, the newly elected governor of Osun, according to a statement from the NSCDC’s Osun State Command spokesman Kehinde Adeleke.
According to her, “NSCDC and other Sister agencies in the state started a Show of force yesterday as a method to convey a message to criminally inclined persons in the state.
“All security services will work together in the state at some designated flash locations to conduct Operation Stop and Search.”
