Defectors from the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara (NNPP).
Abdul’aziz Yari, a former governor and the head of the APC governorship campaign council for the state, was there to greet them on Monday.
The identities of the deportees were released by Yari’s spokesperson, Dahiru Mafara, in a statement on Monday.
They are Suleiman Garba from the Zurmi Constituency and Ibrahim Shinkafi, a senatorial candidate for the NNPP in the Zamfara North Senatorial District.
The state treasurer, Suleiman Galadi, and the heads of the NNPP in Kaura-Namoda and Zurmi both left the party.

Aminu Kanoma, the coordinator of the Foundation for the PDP governorship campaign, as well as Aminu Saminu, the secretary, and Hajiya Umulkhairi Aminu, the treasurer, are other members.
Musa Zubairu, the council’s chairman of the contact and mobilisation subcommittee, acted as Yari’s representative.
At the Talata Mafara ceremony, the head of the Zamfara APC, Tukur Danfulani, and other chiefs were present.
