Although PSG increased their advantage over Lens at the top of Ligue 1 to six points, the Argentina captain played the entire 90 minutes of the game.

Hugo Ekitike, a forward, gave the home team the early advantage before Messi doubled it.

In 20 games so far this season, Messi has scored 13 goals.

It keeps Messi’s incredible goal-scoring record from Barcelona, where he set the record with 672 goals in 778 games and was the club’s top scorer.

As a result, he has now scored 696 goals for Barcelona and PSG in his senior career, matching Cristiano Ronaldo’s total in the top five leagues in Europe.

Prior to scoring 450 goals in 438 games for Real Madrid, 101 goals over three seasons at Juventus, and 27 goals for United in his second tenure at the club, Ronaldo scored 118 goals during his first season at Manchester United.

But Ronaldo, who is two years younger than Messi, has scored five goals for Sporting CP, bringing his club career total to 701—five more than Messi.
