On Wednesday, the Russian military claimed that several Ukrainian drones had been thwarted in border areas during the previous night.

According to a British investigation, Russian military also downed one of their own combat aircraft last month.

The Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kursk districts saw air defence forces intercept a total of 31 unmanned aerial vehicles, according to the Moscow Defence Ministry.

However, Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov mentioned the destruction of an administrative structure.

Invasion of Ukraine on a large scale had been started by Russia more than 19 months prior.

At the same time, although Moscow frequently minimises their significance, strikes on Russian territory have escalated recently.

The scale of the damage and the number of casualties, however, have little to do with the effects of the conflict in the troubled Ukraine.

In close proximity to the captured town of Tokmak in southern Ukraine, British analysts claimed that Russian air defences had unintentionally shot down a Russian fighter jet.

Approximately 20 kilometres behind the present battle line, above Tokmak, on September 28, Russian air defence forces severely downed one of their own Su-35S FLANKER M multirole combat jets.

This was stated by the British Ministry of Defence in its daily statement.

Even though Russia had lost almost 90 fixed-wing aircraft since the invasion began, this is likely only the fifth Su-35S to be lost, according to the report.

The most sophisticated combat jet in Russia is in widespread use, according to the report.

Tokmak, a well fortified town that frequently houses Russian headquarters in charge of one of the fiercestly battled front line areas, makes the position important.

“Usually, short- and medium-range air defence systems would be used to protect these headquarters.

As Ukraine continues to carry out successful deep strikes against such locations, these are probably certainly held at a very high readiness level.
