Ezekiel, a middle-aged guy, was electrocuted while attempting to steal a high-tension wire.

The event happened on Saturday night in the Federal Capital Territory’s Utako neighbourhood.

Ezekiel suffered significant burns as a result of the event, according to a commercial driver who only wanted to be known as Hassan who spoke to our correspondent on Sunday.

He declared, “Ezekiel, a guy, was electrocuted this early morning.
He was electrocuted while attempting to steal a wire from a high-tension cable owned by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company.

“We heard the man’s cry in the night together with the sound of an electrical spark.

“I would have assumed that he intended to commit himself if it weren’t for the fact that a saw, pliers, and torchlight were dispersed on the ground. But he went there on a task equipped with such tools. The man had serious burn injuries but was fortunate not to have died.

Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, verified the occurrence.

“Our soldiers came upon him while on patrol; he had significant burns, and they brought him to the Wuse General Hospital where he is presently undergoing treatment,” Adeh added. He will undoubtedly face charges, but we won’t do that until after he has completely recovered. We have his tools in our possession.
