Impeachment does not rule out possibility of Philip Shaibu becoming governor- PDP Chairman
The Lagos State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Philip Aivoji, emphasized that despite the impeachment of the ex-deputy governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, there is still a possibility for him to become governor in the future.
Aivoji urged Shaibu to exhibit patience and loyalty to the PDP even after his impeachment, highlighting the importance of remaining within the party.
The Edo House of Assembly’s decision to impeach Shaibu came after a judicial panel’s recommendation, which strained his relationship with Governor Godwin Obaseki due to his interest in succeeding him.
Following Shaibu’s removal, Governor Obaseki appointed a new deputy, Omobayo Godwin, to fill the position.
