The Otulu village in the Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State was plunged into sorrow on Sunday, following the unfortunate death of its traditional ruler, Eze Joe Ochulor, adding another layer of complexity to the state’s already dire security situation.

Less than twenty-four hours had passed since Ochulor’s kidnapping from his palace.

The dead body of the monarch was reportedly discovered by the road.

According to reports, his body was found in Aboh Mbaise LGA along the Chokoneze-Mbutu Road.

This occurs just a few days after the assassination of Chiedoziem Anyanwu, the Peoples Democratic Party ward chairman of the Ife/Akpodim/Chokoneze Ward in the same Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA, in front of his spouse.

He was demanded to be seen by the gunmen who had arrived.

Once they were certain he was the man they had been searching for, they shot him and made sure he was dead before they left the area.

The pause in the abduction of Traditional Rulers in Imo has been shattered by the most recent incidence.

The State had a sharp increase in the abduction of Traditional Rulers between 2022 and the first few months of 2023.
