Governor Siminalayi Fubara expresses regret over the PDP’s non-participation in the Rivers State Local Government election, calling himself the “greatest loser” in the situation. Learn more about his statement and its political implications.

Governor Siminalyi Fubara of Rivers has expressed regret that his party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), will not participate in the October 5 Local Government Election in the state.

Governor Fubara made this statement on Thursday at a meeting with several party stakeholders held at the Rivers State Government House in Port Harcourt.

He stated that the election must be conducted on Saturday to adhere to the three-month grace period granted by the Federal Government for starting the implementation of the Supreme Court’s ruling on local government autonomy.

Fubara stated, “In this election, I feel like the biggest loser because my party isn’t participating. It’s a fact!”

Follow the requirements outlined in the RSIEC Law and leave the rest to them. Once RSIEC completes its role, the State Government will take over and finish their part of it by God’s grace within a few days.
