Governor Fubara reaffirms his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during a meeting with the Board of Trustees, dismissing rumors of his possible exit.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has denied rumors suggesting his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stating that PDP still governs and controls Rivers state.

To quell false rumors surrounding his exit from the party, Governor Fubara provided this clarification.

During a visit from the PDP Board of Trustees delegation on Tuesday, led by Chairman Senator Adolphus Wabara to Government House in Port Harcourt, he affirmed his dedication to the PDP.

Governor Fubara’s Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, released a statement in which the governor acknowledged occasionally questioning his membership with PDP. However, he declared that BoT’s visit solidified his belief of being an integral member of the PDP family.

Fubara expressed gratitude towards the Chairman and Board of Trustees, stating that their support has reaffirmed his membership in this esteemed party. Despite any controversies surrounding it, he remains committed to being a loyal member.

“I genuinely appreciate your effort in traveling to Rivers State to meet Governor and the supporters of our undiluted Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The word ‘genuinely’ is important as we are true members of PDP here.”

Governor Fubara expressed his pleasure in seeing leaders, including some PDP founding fathers like Chief Bode George, Senator Ahmed Makarfi and Dr Okwesilieze Nwodo among the delegation discussing the party’s unity.

“I wish to reassure all loyal members of PDP present here that this is yet another opportunity to affirm the correctness of our unwavering allegiance and commitment towards the party.”
