Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) candidate for president, has said that he will contest Bola Tinubu’s win in the presidential election on February 25.
On Monday, Obi declared during an appearance on Arise TV that he was not interested in contesting the “result” of the election.
The former governor of Anambra stated that he intends to challenge the procedures used to arrive at INEC’s announcement of Tinubu as the winner of the election.

In response to a query from earlier today while I was on Arise TV, Obi tweeted, “I want to state categorically that at the Presidential Elections Tribunal (PET), I am challenging the INEC electoral process that resulted in the declaration of Tinubu as president-elect as well as the declaration itself.”
On March 1, Tinubu’s victory in the election was announced.
Since then, Obi has filed a lawsuit citing irregularities by the electoral commission.
As a result, the Appellate Court authorised access to every sensitive document utilised in the election.
