A noteworthy achievement has been made by the Nigeria Police Force, Akwa Ibom State Command after discovering an unlawful arsenal in a privately-owned mortuary situated in Ekeya of Okobo Local Government Area.

On Monday, the Commissioner of Police for the area, Waheed Ayilara, disclosed at a press conference held in Ikot Akpabio’s command headquarters that they had made a breakthrough.

The apprehension of the infamous gang responsible for numerous abductions and homicides in the region, headed by Ubong Effiong Archibong (aka “Condiment”), preceded a raid during which various firearms were found at the mortuary. The cache included two AK-47s, two G3 rifles, one double-barrel shotgun, one single-barrel gun along with five mags and seven live rounds.

Moreover, authorities presented 23-year-old Daniel Edem Okon to the public for allegedly committing a heinous crime. It is said that after hiring a commercial motorcyclist from Idoro Road to Mbikpon Ikot Edin, Okon murdered him, buried his body in an undemanding grave and robbed him of his motorcycle.
