The agitator for the Yoruba people, Sunday Igboho, reassured his supporters that the movement to actualize the Oodua Republic was still on track, emphasizing that he has not given up on the agitation.
Igboho emphasized that the moment for the Yoruba country has come and that he will soon be returning to Nigeria.
The self-described freedom warrior left Nigeria for Cotonou, Benin Republic, around 15 months ago when the Department of State Services (DSS) broke into his home.
But the freedom warrior resolved to see to it that the Yoruba nation was realized.
At Bishop Ajayi Crowther’s annual posthumous birthday celebration in Ibadan, Oyo State, Igboho offered the guarantee.
Igboho, speaking on the zoom platform, said: “By God’s grace, the Fulani herdsmen’s actions against our people will cease in our land. I appreciate everyone for your support since the beginning of this just cause. The Yoruba country will soon be established and will be superior to all other countries.
“Don’t give up hope, Yoruba people who care deeply about their homeland across the world is my message. I am very certain that we are moving toward freedom. This notion that is stirring up our irritation has matured. Soon, I’ll return to Yorubaland.
