Khalil Halilu, the newly appointed Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), has tasked the management group with completely embracing the new course being mapped out for the organisation.

On Monday, when he was starting to get operational briefings from the agency’s management and senior staff, Halilu gave the order.

He pledged that NASENI would operate an open-door policy that welcomed ideas and proposals while he was in charge.

“We will learn from all of our past errors and implement the necessary corrections in our long-term strategic objectives. We are not here to engage in witchcraft or relive the past, he declared.

The new EVC/CEO requested the creation of thorough briefing notes for presentation by the management team and senior employees on Monday, September 11, 2023 during his first management meeting after taking office last week.

The briefings, which have already started, will be followed in the coming weeks by a visit of NASENI institutes and facilities across the nation.

On September 2, 2023, President Bola Tinubu appointed Halilu to the positions of Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NASENI.

In addition to successfully commercialising the agency’s research and innovation, the new EVC/CEO has mentioned NASENI’s role in guaranteeing technology transfer to Nigeria from around the world as one of his top priorities.
