Bola Tinubu, who is running for president with the All Progressives Congress (APC), has promised to back him, and so has the Igbo Town Union General Assembly (ITGA), an organisation with members in 19 northern states and the federal capital territory (FCT).
The group spoke on Thursday while paying the governor of Imo, Hope Uzodimma, a visit in Owerri, the state’s capital.
The assembly’s decision to back Tinubu was made based on the belief that the APC would win the presidential election, according to a speech by the group’s head, Collins Ajali.
The group also pledged to support the governor by utilising its network and platform.

“We have unanimously agreed to work for the victory of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and its presidential candidate, senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu, in the upcoming presidential election,” Ajali added after taking into account the current political climate and the election’s timing.
“APC is not only in power but also in the government, which means they are in charge at both the federal level and in the majority of the northern states.”
Additionally, the group asked for a town hall meeting with Tinubu in Abuja.
Uzodimma told the group that the people who backed the APC candidate had made the right decision.
In addition, he praised the group’s organisational abilities and vowed to treat the issues they brought up carefully.
