The five disgruntled governors of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) are still amenable to reconciliation with Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential nominee, according to Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.
Wike was certain that the PDP will lose the 2023 presidential race if Atiku’s camp and the party leadership did not work toward reconciliation.
He commented on Wednesday while escorting the governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, to Bauchi together with Samuel Ortom of Benue, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, and Ifeanyi Ugueanyi of Enugu.
He said that the five governors of the PDP constitute the foundation of the party and cannot be disregarded.
He asserted that the 2023 presidential election will take place as soon as the Atiku camp agreed to the parameters of reconciliation.
“We are here for reconciliation, as I’ve made quite clear. Reconciliation has never been off-limits to us, and it never will be.
The PDP’s motto is “All we are saying is for equality and justice.” That’s all we’re saying. “Let what is right be done,”
The Bauchi Governor wrote a warning letter to the party’s national leadership after learning that the Atiku campaign was courting supporters who had a history of anti-party actions and treason.
During their meeting on Tuesday in Abuja, Mohammed said that talks with Atiku’s campaign on the general election in 2023 were still underway.
The fact that I issued a letter to the party outlining my viewpoint and what, in my opinion, was working against me as a leader and a first-time governor seeking a second term is no longer a secret, he added.
The party invited me to meet with the party’s flag bearer and our leader because “I wrote it with complete honesty, sincerity, and a strong feeling of.”
The PDP family in Bauchi State also contributed to the letter, addition to myself. We spoke about this a lot.”
Governor Mohammed revealed his connection to the PDP Group Five during his discussion with them.
They will always be my buddies. I am everywhere, but that doesn’t imply I am nowhere, of course.
