Rabiu Kwankwaso, the national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), is welcome to join the ruling party, according to Abdullahi Ganduje, the recently elected National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former governor of Kano State, Ganduje, discussed his position with a few select media outlets on Saturday night in Kano.
The APC chairman declared that he is now in command of the party’s activities and emphasised that because of his position, Kwankwaso will now find it simpler to re-join the opposition party if he so chooses.
He hailed Kwankwaso as a capable politician who has served in a number of prominent roles for the state and the country.
“Nobody will say Kwankwaso is not a good politician,” he asserted. “At least, he was a two-term governor of Kano, albeit with erratic terms; he was minister of defence, despite the fact that he has no idea what defence is; and he was once a senator, despite the fact that he said nothing at all during his time there.
It will be simpler for him to lobby now that someone from his state is the party chairman; nevertheless, if he is willing to defect to the APC, our door is open, the politician continued.
