Tiwa Savage, the Nigerian artist, shared that the concept for her first film ‘Water & Garri’ came to her while she was under the influence, as she revealed during a press conference at the Livespot Entertainment Centre in Lagos.
She mentioned that the idea initially came to her while she was intoxicated in her room, but when she presented it to her team, they embraced it wholeheartedly, recognizing its brilliance.
The movie, ‘Water & Garri’, made its debut on Prime Video on May 10, portraying the story of Aisha, played by Tiwa Savage, who returns to her transformed native home after a period of estrangement.
Alongside Tiwa Savage, the film features Andrew Bunting as Kay, Mike Afolarin as Mide, and Jemima Osunde as Stephany, with the picturesque backdrop of Cape Coast, Ghana, and direction by Meji Alabi.
