The action was taken a few weeks after the committee reported receiving petitions alleging 39 MDAs had engaged in job racketeering and other breaches.

The Reps committee looking into suspected job robbing by ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) is being investigated by the Independent Corrupt Practises and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

This action followed petitions against the committee and claims of corruption against the investigation panel.

But the anti-graft organisation stated in a statement on Friday night that it had opened a probe into the situation.

Premium Times and Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, Chairman of the House of Representatives’ Ad-Hoc Committee on the Investigation of Job Racketeering and Gross Mismanagement in Federal Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), filed petitions with the Independent Corrupt Practises and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), alleging bribery of the investigation panel, the agency said.

The action was taken a few weeks after the committee reported receiving petitions alleging 39 MDAs had engaged in job racketeering and other breaches.

Gagdi reaffirmed that, in keeping with its goals, the committee would enlist the help of nearly 600 MDAs to investigate any corruption in the nation’s civil service.
