On Tuesday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) Chairman met.
The purpose of the meeting, which was called by ICPC Chairman Musa Adamu Aliyu, was to bolster the country’s anti-corruption efforts.

The meeting, which was aimed to discuss other areas of collaboration and deepen mutual cooperation and synergize efforts for greater impact in Nigeria’s anti-corruption drive, was held at the EFCC headquarters on Tuesday and included the chairmen and management staff of the two anti-graft agencies.
The visit to the EFCC, according to ICPC Chairman Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, was a demonstration of the agencies’ dedication to their current working relationship.
He declared that the ICPC, under his direction, was prepared to offer the assistance and collaboration required to end corruption in Nigeria.
“It is critical that we collaborate, and we cannot accomplish this without a positive working relationship. For this reason, I believe I must extend my hand in friendship to the EFCC in order for us to work together effectively to combat corruption in Nigeria,” the man stated.
“I am aware that the EFCC and ICPC have a Memorandum of Understanding, and I’m eager and prepared to collaborate with them on any matter that is relevant to the fight against corruption.
“I will be contacting my brother, who is also the chairman of the EFCC, regarding matters in which I believe we can collaborate, as there is no reason for us to be spending time and resources on redundant duties. After our initial meeting, I hope that we will get together frequently to discuss our joint work.
In agreement with the collaborative stance, EFCC Chairman Mr. Ola Olukoyede said that the meeting also offered a chance to examine the current Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations.
“There are areas where our mandates are similar, and with a population of roughly 250 million, we have a lot of power. The magnitude of the task necessitates that we collaborate.”
The head of EFCC added that recent occurrences showed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s political determination to combat corruption, which was sufficient motivation for anti-corruption authorities to perform to the best of their abilities.
We think that our president, who has shown himself to be willing and ready to act morally over the past 48 hours, is giving the anti-corruption agencies the political will and direction they need to function. Because of this, we don’t think we have a place to hide, so we must make sure we give it our all.
“We’re going to back the President appropriately, and we think he’ll have the guts to make the correct choices. In this nation, no one is too big to be looked into. We shall look into you if you start breaking the rules.
