A tragic auto crash in Ibadan has resulted in the loss of six lives, raising concerns about road safety and the need for improved traffic regulations.
In a tragic accident in the Amuloko area of Ibadan, six individuals lost their lives and five others were seriously injured.
The collision that took place earlier today involved two trucks, a tricycle, and a commercial motorcycle typically referred to as an “Okada.”
An eyewitness reported that the incident began when a trailer lost control on a steep downhill section of the road. This out-of-control vehicle set off a chain reaction, resulting in the tragic collision.
Tragically, some of the victims included school children who were on their way to class.

A mother, who was thought to be taking her child to school, was among the victims of the crash. Fortunately, despite sustaining injuries, her child survived with only minor wounds.
As the trailer descended the slope, its brake system malfunctioned. A following truck attempted to avert a collision but ended up crashing into a tricycle that was transporting some students and other passengers.
Before assistance arrived, some passengers had already died while others were injured.
The injured victims, among them two school children, were quickly taken to Amuloko City Hospital for treatment.
An unauthorized representative of the Oyo Road Transport Maintenance Agency (OYRTMA) mentioned that the accident occurred early Monday morning.
He confirmed that the accident occurred when the trailer lost control while descending a slope, resulting in it colliding with both a tricycle and another truck.
He reported that six people lost their lives and five others were injured.
Dr. Raji Wale, the Managing Director of Amuloko City Hospital, confirmed the arrival of four patients at his facility: “Six injured individuals were brought in. Two have already received outpatient care while two children remain under treatment. Tragically, one of these children was in a tricycle with their mother who did not survive.”
Mrs. Rosemary Alo of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Oyo State confirmed the accident, but was unable to provide details as she awaited information from the team dispatched to the scene.
