Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has emphasized that the Labour Party (LP) will welcome members from the opposition party who wish to join their ranks.
Drawing a comparison to a church, Otti stated that a political party should not prevent individuals from exercising their democratic right to switch parties.
However, he assured that the current good governance in the state will remain unaffected by the influx of new members. Otti also revealed that he has been utilizing security funds to ensure the safety and well-being of Abia residents, citing the successful arrest of a kidnapping gang leader at the Murtala Mohammed Airport.
Another member of the gang was apprehended in Port Harcourt, highlighting the effectiveness of the Operation Crush security team established by the governor’s administration. Otti expressed his satisfaction that pensioners in the state, who had long been owed their pensions, have finally received their dues.
