I Was Stigmatized for Getting Pregnant at 16 – Rhuthee
Rhuthee opens up about facing stigma and societal judgment after becoming pregnant at 16, sharing her experience and the challenges of overcoming early motherhood.
Rhuthee, a former Big Brother Naija contestant, has opened up about her battle with teenage pregnancy after being evicted from the house.
During an emotional conversation with Hero Daniels, Rhuthee recounted how she became pregnant at 16 and experienced severe condemnation and scrutiny from individuals who were unaware of her circumstances.
Despite viewing her daughter as a blessing, Rhuthee, who is now 32 years old, still experiences discrimination.
Rhuthee shared that being pregnant at the age of 16 was extremely difficult for her as she had to face judgement from others without them even knowing her story. Even now, she still has to confront this issue despite realizing how fortunate she is because having a daughter remains one of the greatest blessings in her life.
It’s not necessary to be universally adored or seek approval from others. Forcing connections or seeking attention is unnecessary, as genuine relationships should come naturally. Even without revealing one’s personal story, there will always be individuals who disapprove and that’s okay.
