Carter Efe, who recently appeared on the Hip TV show Trending, presented by reality queen KimOprah, declared, “I’ve been funny since I was born.” I started performing stand-up comedy while I was a student. I used to just stand in front of the class during breaks and start making everyone laugh.

“Obioma, I was a London tailor before I started doing skits. I adore the arts. For instance, I edit my own sketches. One day, I informed my dad that I wanted to become a tailor. I stated that I wanted to learn tailoring since I adore creativity, and he asked what about my education. It took me less than six months to pick up sewing skills.

Sometimes when I was learning to sew, I would pretend to be unwell to get away from my supervisor so I could go film a skit. I’ll return in the afternoon following that. He still gave me punishment. He would order me to bow. I would spend the entire day on my knees.

“Until one day, when Broda Shaggi put out a challenge on Instagram, saying that everyone ought to groove to a tune. I was in Delta State at the time. I said, “Let me just vibe to this,” and after doing so, I emerged first. I took home the PS5.

“Shaggi advised me to travel to Lagos in order to get my reward. I sold the PS5 for roughly N300,000 after I got it. I then made the decision to remain in Lagos. I was travelling to different sites to film my skit, and my transportation costs came to N300,000. At the time, I was staying with a friend.
