This was said by Obi during the Lagos Alumni Conference for the Lagos Business School (LBS) in 2022.
The governor of Anambra from 2006 to 2014 was responding to Soludo’s assertion that Obi’s investment in politics was almost worthless.
Additionally, Soludo criticized Obi on Monday, asserting that he cannot win the 2023 presidential election.
I Still Love Soludo, My Brother
Obi responded on Tuesday in Lagos and said Soludo was his sibling.
“He (Soludo) is still my brother; we have a strong relationship.
I will continue to pray for him.
God has given him the chance to try other things that I didn’t succeed at and do them well.
So, Obi said, “If there is anything outstanding, governance doesn’t end, individuals are still in government in America. Therefore, you stop where you would stop, and other people will continue from there.”
Since he is the governor of the state and is my older brother, he is even smarter than me. I am a trader, therefore he has more knowledge and will be able to do tasks more effectively than I am.
“I have done a bit on my own as a trader, and now that the professor is there, he will do his own thing as a professor; he will roof the schools I didn’t cover, because that’s how government works,” the trader said.
According to the previous governor, his administration saved 50 million dollars in Access, Diamond, and Fidelity banks at an interest rate of 6.5%, leaving the office with funds totaling 75 billion Naira.
In addition, he adds, “The one they thought was useless, we put 3.5 billion naira in International Breweries…that plant is there employing directly and indirectly over 10,000 Anambarians. The shares were formerly sold for N50; they are currently worth around N5.
“When you spread your investment, certain investments may increase while others will decrease, but generally, the firm is still operating, doing well, and is still a part of the worldwide network, among other things. I didn’t need to clarify it because I was defending my brother’s remarks, the LP candidate said.
Citing Innoson Motors and Zinos Computers as examples, he claimed to have left the office without being in debt to any suppliers or contractors who had completed their tasks.
