Nigerian music legend DJ Jimmy Jatt has revealed that he lost his sight in 2020, sharing his personal journey and resilience in the face of health challenges.

Nigerian disc jockey, Oluwaforijimi Amu, known as DJ Jimmy Jatt, has shared his experiences with medical challenges and his eventual kidney transplant.

Remember that the artist behind “Stylee” disclosed in 2022 that he had a successful kidney transplant.

During a recent episode of Channels TV’s program *Rubbin Minds* with Ebuka, Jatt shared that he lost his sight in 2020 and was subsequently diagnosed with chronic kidney disease following surgery to restore his vision.

He mentioned that his health issues started when he chose to explore the world after spending most of his life in Nigeria.

He mentioned that he might have brought it upon himself because, back in 2019, he expressed a desire to spend more time outside of the country. Having lived his entire life in Nigeria, particularly Lagos, he wanted to explore different parts of the world such as Europe and America.

In 2020, I began experiencing health issues. Due to travel restrictions at the time, I was confined to Nigeria when I lost my sight. After undergoing surgery, my vision was restored. Feeling the need for a change and wanting to follow through on plans of living abroad temporarily, I moved to the U.S., where doctors diagnosed me with chronic kidney disease. During that period in the States, I underwent dialysis treatment before eventually returning home to Nigeria for a kidney transplant. Following this procedure and seeking adequate recovery time away from attention or stressors back home post-discharge—I once again left Nigeria after being released from medical care.

While I was abroad, I continued DJing in America and Europe. However, I felt it was time to return to Nigeria, so I came back in December.
