The claims suggesting that Dele Alake, the Minister of Solid Minerals, would be running for the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti state under the All Progressive Congress (APC) have been vehemently denied by the minister himself.

Alake, hailing from Ikoro-Ekiti, Ijero Local Government Area, addressed the issue in response to the circulating posters and flyers on social media platforms, which depict him as a gubernatorial aspirant with the slogan ‘Take it Back’ and his image.

Through a statement released by his Special Assistant on media, Segun Tomori, Alake dismissed the poster as fraudulent and urged the public to disregard it, emphasizing that he has no intention of pursuing a governorship position in Ekiti State, neither presently nor in the future.

Alake expressed his unwavering commitment to President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda, particularly in the solid mineral sector, and vowed not to be swayed by the actions of certain individuals.

Furthermore, he declared his support for the state governor, Biodun Oyebanji, in his endeavors to transform the state, affirming his dedication to contributing to the development of Ekiti state.

Dr. Alake’s statement clarifies that he has no intention of running for the governorship election in Ekiti State, both now and in the future.

He disapproves of the circulating poster and emphasizes that he is unaware of the individuals responsible for it.

The Minister is fully dedicated to his role in reforming and revitalizing the Solid Minerals sector in Nigeria, a responsibility entrusted to him by President Bola Tinubu. His focus is on making the sector a significant source of revenue and job creation for Nigerians.

Dr. Dele Alake remains committed to his current national assignment and is determined to transform the solid minerals sector, demonstrating the trust placed in him by President Bola Tinubu.
